The name is based in the fact that the translation was produced at the English College at Douay. The College has migrated to Rheims and editions were printed there as well.
Douay and Rheims are English spellings of the french towns of Douai and Reims. This Bible date to 1582 for the New Testament and 1609 for the Old Testament.
